Sansa III - A Storm of Swords

Where are the so-called feminist fans when 12-year-old Sansa Stark is forcibly married to a man twice her age who specifically chose to marry her over a woman his own age because he’s attracted to a preteen and wants to steal her birthright ?

Ah yes they think she’s ungrateful

  • alicentsgf:

people saying alicent thinks women shouldn’t rule is so fucking funny because she has in canon, on screen, without any room for interpretation, repeatedly said and demonstrated she does think women can rule. but some of team black just don’t want to admit that because then they’d have think about the actual reason alicent has reservations abt rhaenyra ruling and as soon as you get that far you start to realise alicent has a point (and feelings) and it just gets to be far too much for them so they’d rather just label alicent a brainwashed tradwife and call it a day

Emilia Clarke on CBS Sunday Morning

Ok real quick THIS is the problem I have with the show. “ItS jUsT fIcTiOn” tell that to the actresses that have to go through this

i feel pretty stupid for thinking that the actresses weren’t affected by their roles in this show just because they knew they were acting. like what did it say to them that those were the roles they had to play that’s so horrible

This is why I don’t watch this kind of garbage.

“But as far as sci-fi and fantasy, I love that genre because there are so many things you can do, like rip someone’s tongue out of their throat and get away with it and rape beautiful women,” - Jason Momoa

Not to distract from the topic at hand, but I hope everyone extends the same sympathy to porn actors as well and realise how far more damaging porn can be to the mental well being of the women acting in the poem film.

yes! Weirdly GoT criticisms peaked me even though I’m not a fan of the show & have avoided watching it - I read the articles about Hannah waddingham being waterboarded …. And I told my friend who is a diehard GoT stan and she was like oh right well her character deserved it because (fictional) reasons… I said no I mean she ACTUALLY got waterboarded. my friend was shocked bc the scene in the show is like less than 2 minutes long. and it made me realize I had those justifications ready for porn actors as well. 100%. at this point I genuinely believe every facet of living in society is just a meta Stanford Prison Experiment.

“Waddingham said the original scene was meant to be even more tortuous, with Unella being raped by Gregor Clegane, a.k.a. the Mountain (Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson). “I think they’d had so many complaints about the rape of Sansa [Sophie Turner] that they chose not to go with it,” she said. “Unbelievably, they changed it quite at the last minute. I think they possibly changed it when I was mid-air flying to Belfast because suddenly I got sent these new sides that said I would need a wetsuit top. I thought they’d sent me the wrong bits.

    (…)

Apparently they hadn’t, and when Waddingham arrived on set, she was indeed outfitted with a wetsuit. “They were like, ‘Oh, it’s going to be waterboarding instead,’” she recalled. “And I was like, ‘But we’re not actually doing waterboarding.’ And they were like, ‘No, no, no, we are.’"Waddingham said she was bound to the wooden table in the scene with “proper big straps” for hours as Cersei (Lena Headey) poured wine into her face. “Definitely other than childbirth, [it] was the worst day of my life,” she said. “Lena was uncomfortable pouring liquid in my face for that long, and I was beside myself. But in those moments, you go, ‘Do you serve the piece and get on with it?’ Or do you chicken out and go, ‘This isn’t what I signed up for.’”

When Waddingham returned to the hotel that night, she said she was unable to speak above a whisper and had “bruises already coming up like I’d been attacked.”

Filming the scene had a lingering impact on her. “It definitely gave me claustrophobia around water,” she said. “It’s quite full on being waterboarded for 10 hours — and then, for only one minute and 37 seconds to be used on camera.”

Waddingham was driven by the creators’ desire for authenticity and her trust in the production team. “I didn’t want the strap tight around my neck, but as they pointed out if the camera can see you lifting your head up to save yourself, that’s not authentic,” she said. “As [GOT co-creator] Dan Weiss pointed out, he came up and said, ‘Look, in the script it says Cersei empties the remainder of her glass of red wine to wake up Unella. People aren’t going to think that’s enough. That is not enough retribution for Cersei. It needs to be three-quarters full or so — if we can cheat it, even more — of a carafe of wine.’ The one thing I kept thinking to myself was the production company aren’t going to let you die, so get on with it, be uncomfortable.”

So they changed it last minute (not giving her time to prepare), and used an actual act of torture on her, which had psychological and physical consequences… This has to be illegal, right?!

Remember when Alex Graves told an UNDERAGE Sophie Turner that she was getting a “love interest” in the next season… and that turned out to be Ramsay’s the man her character was married to and raped by repeatedly.

They had no problem torturing the women on the set of the show.

Also remember how they had Esme Bianco, a domestic violence survivor, doing a bunch of gross, degrading scenes, and when she finally protested she was fired and her character killed off in the most brutal, sexualized, undignified way possible.

Literally one of the directors (the one from Blackwater) came forward and said this

    image

Executive must have been Benioff or Weiss…

Screaming at a director “I NEED MORE FULL FRONTAL” and saying they represent the “perv” side of the audience.

I give the show like 5 more years before we get horrific stories coming out about behind the scenes behavior.

really funny to me when you’re reading Fire & Blood, and it’s mentioned that Daemon’s clearly grooming behavior towards Rhaenyra was angering people at court and making them uncomfortable, including Alicent, and people somehow twist this around to be, “well Alicent was just bitter about their pure Valyrian love! jealous old hag!”.

like I am not denying that Alicent and Rhaenyra’s relationship very quickly degraded in Fire & Blood, and Alicent was not kind or fair towards her as a child, but like…. come on, lol. she can dislike Rhaenyra and also be like ’yeah this is fucked up, step away from the literal 14 year old, Daemon’.

The thing that gets me about Looking For Jobs is that every hiring site has like miles of just saying words at you that you have to scroll through. Talking about teamwork career building opportunities goals. Talking about “our mission” & it’s a grocery store

I’m too autistic for this amount of extraneous social song & dance bullshit I just want to know if you’ll pay me or not

You’re a grocery store. We both know you’re a grocery store. Your mission is to sell groceries. You could give a fuck about peace and love on planet earth. I could give a fuck about you. I’m here because we live in hell. You know this. I know this. You know I know this. I don’t know what you’re paying though. Because this page is longer than it has any goddamn reason to be and you put that information right at the bottom. With an asterisk next to it
